The MySQL Development team is proud to announce a new version of the MySQL Shell, which includes AdminAPI 8.0.25. MySQL Shell is an advanced client and code editor for MySQL Server. AdminAPI enables you to work with MySQL InnoDB cluster and replication setups using a simple API.
The areas of change for this release include:
Security: The linked OpenSSL library for the MySQL Commercial Server and MySQL Community Server has been updated to version 1.1.1k. This change does not affect Oracle-produced MySQL binaries, which use the yaSSL library instead.
Packaging: MySQL Yum repository now provides security updates only for currently supported MySQL products.
Functionality Added or Changed: InnoDB: A new system variable, innodb_default_row_format, has been introduced. Starting from MySQL 8.0.25, this variable controls the default row format for new tables. With the introduction of this variable, the default row format remains set to COMPACT following upgrades from releases prior to MySQL 8.0.25.
